Regionally-Ranked Men’s Soccer Ties MIT, 1-1

WENHAM, Mass.- The Gordon College men's soccer team earned a 1-1 draw against the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Wednesday night at the Brigham Athletic Complex.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • The visitors snagged a 1-0 lead in the 65th minute as Charles Lai headed in a cross from Jesse Hedequist.
  • Gordon equalized in the 67th minute to pull even at 1-1. Santiago Hernandez (Puebla, Mexico) found the back of the net with a long-range effort to bag his first marker of the year.
     
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
  • Seven different players registered a shot in the match for the Fighting Scots while Brayden Figueroa (Framingham, Mass.), Sylver Godines (New Braunfels, Texas), Santiago Hernandez (Puebla, Mexico), and Cameron Vavala (Newtown Square, Pa.) all fired one shot on frame.
  • Riley Calemmo (Pocono Mountain, Pa.) managed a pair of saves in his ninth start of the season.
  • Gordon finished with seven shots on the night while MIT generated 15 attempts.
