CLAREMONT, Calif.- The Gordon College volleyball team fell 3-1 at Pomona-Pitzer Saturday morning to wrap up action at the Pacific Coast Classic.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Pomona-Pitzer captured the first set 25-22 to construct a 1-0 advantage.
- Gordon responded with a 25-23 win in the second frame to level the match at 1-1.
- The Sagehens prevailed 25-20 in the third to reclaim a one-set edge, 2-1.
- The home side eked out a 25-23 decision in the fourth set to clinch a 3-1 victory.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Haley Hutzler (Long Island, N.Y.) notched a team-best 18 kills to go with 15 digs.
- Annie Zimmerman (Austin, Texas) tallied 10 kills and 16 digs.
- Teagan Brideweser (Warwick, N.Y.) added eight kills and four blocks.
- Annika Schmitt (Quincy, Mass.) recorded 36 assists, nine digs, three kills, and a pair of service aces.
- Amanda Pierce (Johnston, R.I.) finished with 15 digs while Maddie Bell (New Milford, Conn.) posted six digs and three aces.
LOOKING AHEAD:
Gordon heads to the Cornhusker State for the first time in program history to compete at the P-Wolf Invite hosted by Nebraska Wesleyan September 11-12.
