WENHAM, Mass.- The Gordon College women's golf team opened the 2026-27 season at Wenham County Club against Endicott College and Roger Williams. In the Fighting Scots' first fall match, first-years Addyson Peterson and Hayden Peck made their collegiate debuts. Peterson shot a personal-best and the team's lowest individual score in program history, 79 (+14). Her 79 was just one stroke behind Ximena Romero of Roger Williams, who shot 78 (+13) to win the individual medal.

In the end, the Scots finished with a team score of 370 (+110), beating Roger Williams' 381 (+121) and Endicott's 452 (+192). In the fourth year under head coach Joe Ferraro, Gordon achieved its best start to a season, with plenty of time and opportunity for growth. These victories set a positive tone for the Scots' 2026-27 season, beginning with a 2-0 overall record and a 2-0 record against conference rivals.

This match also marked the inaugural outing for Endicott's women's golf team, led by head coach Gabby LaRiviere. Endicott made a good impression, playing well alongside the Scots. The schools are developing programs only miles apart that are likely to create a friendly rivalry, and the coaches see value in fostering camaraderie between the programs.

The Scots' next match will be held at Tumble Brook Country Club in Bloomfield, Connecticut September 13 as Gordon is slated to compete at the University of Hartford Hawks Invitational.
