Gordon Volleyball libero Keri Hustus (Sr./Eastford, Conn.) has been chosen as Gordon's Athlete of the Week for the week of July 30.

Entering her fourth year in the Fighting Scots' program, Hustus was the team leader in digs last season with 358 total, averaging 3.65 per set in 98 sets played. After helping captain the team's 2010 and 2011 efforts, she will once again serve as captain for the upcoming 2012 campaign.

Said Head Coach Ruth DeLuca of Hustus, "Keri is a solid leader for our team, both on and off the court. She is extremely competitive and consistently raises the energy level at practice and during games. Keri is also an encourager and an unselfish team player. We look forward to seeing what she can do in her senior season."

The Scots will open the season on their home court as they host Newbury, Framingham State, St. Joseph's (Conn.), Suffolk, and Mount Holyoke in the Gordon Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 1.
