MIDDLETOWN, Conn. — Gordon's men's track & field team opened their spring season at the Wesleyan University Spring Classic and posted seven top-ten finishes at the meet.

The 4x400-meter relay team of Matt Jaeger, Kevin Leblanc, Chase Silvia, and Alex King finished second in 3:53.74. King also placed second in the pole vault as he cleared the bar at 3.65 meters. Jaeger finished fifth in the long jump with a leap of 5.69 meters. Silvia placed sixth in the 60-meter hurdles in 10.52. Jack Gilbert finished seventh in the 1500 meters in 4:39.6 while Sebastian Toro placed tenth in 4:52.90. Jesse Edwards finished seventh in the 3000 meters in 10:15.25.

Christian Draus was the top finisher in the shot put as he placed 11^th with a toss of 10.33 meters. Silvia also finished 14^th in the 400 meters in 56.72. Chandler Hansen placed 16^th in the 800 meters in 2:29.00. Sevon Newman finished 19^th in the 100 meters in 13.13. Leblanc also placed 24^th in the 200 meters in 27.02.

The Fighting Scots next compete at the Smith Invitational hosted by Smith College April 7.
