NEW LONDON, Conn. — Gordon's men's track & field team competed in the Silfen Invitational hosted by Connecticut College and finished in 19
th place.
Chase Silvia tied for eighth in the high jump as he cleared the bar at 1.78 meters. He also placed 19
th in the long jump with a leap of 5.65 meters. The 4x400-meter relay team of Silvia,
Kevin Leblanc,
Jack Gilbert, and
Alex King finished 13
th in 3:45.18.
King also tied for 14
th in the pole vault as he cleared the bar at 3.80 meters and placed 57
th in the 800 meters in 2:07.15.
Sebastian Toro finished 20
th in the 3000-meter steeplechase in 11:13.44.
Sevon Newman placed 23
rd in the discus with a throw of 32.43 meters and 34
th in the javelin with a toss of 31.75 meters.
Spencer Roffee finished 25
th in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:08.19.
Christian Draus placed 29
th in the shot put with a toss of 10.43 meters. Leblanc also led Gordon with a 55
th place finish in the 400 meters in 56.79 and a 69
th place finish in the 200 meters in 26.44.
Jack Gilbert finished 55
th in the 1500 meters in 4:34.43.
Jesse Edwards placed 58
th in the 5000 meters in 17:24.73.
The Fighting Scots will next compete at the Sean Collier Invitational hosted by MIT April 21.
