Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Coming off their first win late last night, Gordon College Softball hit the dirt again today to play Ohio Christian University and Widener University. THe Fighting Scots were narrowly edged in the first game (8-6) before securing a dominant 13-6 win over Widener.
 
Gordon vs. Ohio Christian

• The Blazers started off the top of the first with immediate pressure on the Scots' defense, scoring two runs.
• Gordon created some chaos of their own in the bottom of the frame to plate a pair of runs to even out the score at 2-2.
• In the second, both sides were evenly matched once again after trading RBI-singles to make it a 3-3 ball game.
• The visitors began to pull away in the following two innings to go on top, 7-3. However, the blue and white executed a suicide squeeze play to score their fifth run before Makayla Falco rocketed a single off the pitcher to cut the deficit to one-run heading into the seventh.
• The Blazers added an insurance run in the top of the innings and came out with the 8-6 win over the Scots. 

Gordon vs. Widener 

• The blue and white came out of the gates hot in game two, coming across the plate a half dozen times to lead 6-0 early.
• In the third inning, Madison Murray knocked in Emily Graham who was on second base after a double to left field (7-1). Gordon continued to put pressure on Widener as they capitalized on passed balls and fielding miscues to make it 10-6 heading into the seventh. A single from Ami Rivera and a double from Hailey Conde capped off the scoring for Gordon to hold the commanding win.

Beyond The Box Score

• With her two hits against Ohio Christian, Samantha Perkins has registered back-to-back multi hit games.
• The Scots have an off day tomorrow before squaring off against Washington and Jefferson and Saint Mary's College at 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 13.
