As announced by Commissioner Gregg Kaye and the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC), senior goalkeeper Spencer Lord (North Stonington, Conn.), Gordon's Athlete of the Week, has been honored as the Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
Lord, who assumed the starting role in net midway through the season, was standout between the pipes in helping the Scots stay unbeaten in conference (6-0-2) with a pair of CCC wins last week. He posted seven saves in a 2-0 home shutout over Curry and three saves in a 2-0 road win over conference rival Roger Williams, finishing the week at 0.00 goals against.
He and the rest of the Scots look to close out the regular season with another win as they host the Golden Bears of Western New England, who are also unbeaten in conference, on Tuesday, October 25. Having already clinched the No. 2 seed for the upcoming playoffs, the Scots will host seventh-ranked Salve Regina on Saturday, October 29 at 1:00p.m.
